Police Update
Some advice from our local PCSO Nick Gough:
As the evenings start to pull in I would like to remind everyone about target hardening premises and outbuildings. Darkness is the criminals friend so think about installing additional lighting, video doorbells or CCTV as well as utilising timer switches to turn table lamps on and off to make it look like someone is home. You can get lots of crime prevention advice from our dedicated crime prevention website at: https://www.aspolicestaysafe.co.uk
This is also a prime time for car thefts, so , again, make sure doors and windows, especially on ground floors, are shut at night and make sure cars are locked. Remove any valuables from vehicles overnight, especially vans with expensive equipment it. It’s also worth noting that some burglaries occur because they want to steal cars from driveways; make it more difficult by taking the keys upstairs and hiding them overnight.
